Alchemist Cultivars began with a simple obsession: plants that don't look like they should exist.

The strange ones. The variegated ones. The leaves that unfurl looking completely different from the one before them. The plants you check far too many times a day because maybe something changed since this morning.

From that obsession grew something much bigger.

Founded in Pennsylvania and officially opened in 2026, Alchemist Cultivars is a small, independently owned botanical shop built around rare and unusual plants, handmade oddities, and the belief that everyday spaces deserve a little more magic.

More Than a Plant Shop

Plants will always be at the heart of Alchemist Cultivars.

Our collection centers heavily around Aroids, including Alocasia, Philodendron, Monstera, and other botanical curiosities ranging from familiar favorites to rare cultivars, unusual variegation, corms, starters, and collector plants.

But somewhere along the way, the greenhouse collided with the apothecary.

Crystals appeared.

Wire started twisting into moons and vines.

Glass bottles became potions.

Suncatchers began throwing rainbows across rooms full of foliage.

And Alchemist Cultivars became exactly what it was supposed to be: part plant shop, part maker's studio, part strange little apothecary tucked somewhere between the forest and the imagination.

Made for People Who Like Their Beautiful Things a Little Strange

Our aesthetic lives in the spaces between gothic and whimsical, botanical and celestial, earthy and otherworldly.

Think overgrown conservatories. Apothecary shelves. Moonlight through stained glass. Old forests where something is probably watching you from behind a tree.

Around here, plants mingle with crystals, moons, glass, charms, potions, handmade décor, wearable pieces, and whatever strange idea happens to escape the workshop next.

Many of our pieces are handmade in small batches or created individually, which means they are allowed to have personality. No two plants grow exactly alike, and we don't think everything else should either.

Cultivated With Intention

Being a small business means we get to care about the details.

We can obsess over the roots before a plant leaves our care.

We can watch a corm become something spectacular.

We can spend entirely too long deciding which bead belongs on a suncatcher.

We can make something because an idea refused to leave us alone.

And we can build a shop that feels personal rather than mass-produced.

Alchemist Cultivars is still growing, experimenting, creating, and evolving right alongside the plants we cultivate.
